GRRRR!!!! computer Strife

Okay, so against my better judgement, i bought a gateway computer. Half because I was in a rush and the store was closing but half because it was a great deal, and it was really the best specs of the whole store. Seriously quad core 6 gigs of ram lotsa hard drive space and a good video card - it was a sweet machine! and Windows 7 to boot! Perfect. got it home, didnt work. 2 system restores later and 3 hours on live chat and phone with gateway customer service and these asshats want me to send the fucking thing back to the depot for a repair... its 3 hours OLD! am i going to wait a week and send the thing to the god damn depot or am I going to bring it back to future shop and demand an exchange tomorrow!? So the thing is packed up, I'm taking JUST the computer part back not the monitor and I'm getting it exchanged tomorrow. I'll make em test it in store too. Just to make sure it works.

On the Plus side the Futureshop employee was fantastic. I was glad he got his commission. He gave us a 40$ cable for 5$ (goes to show how hight the mark up is eh?) and I'm sure future shop will exchange it for us no problem. Hopefully I packed it up right.

Another plus (DESPERATELY SEEKING PLUSSES!!) The monitor is STUNNING, STUNNING. its so big (and its so close it seems bigger!) and the buttons to turn it on are not visible as buttons! its a hard plastic case but when you tough the edge it comes on. its brilliant! I love it!

anyways, First thing when Future shop opens tomorrow I'm taking it down there to exchange it.
All will be well :)

The main Event!

Phew, Finally back home!
Got a great haul of stuff this year! WOO!
Right now I'm making a big pot of soup and a big pot of stock as well since I got a set of 4 big stock pots. Tomorrow I'm going to make a Lasagne with rotini instead of lasagne noodles (kinda like a casserole) and bake it in our great new toaster oven that Temple & Jeff bought us.
I also got some great red jammies, red house coat, my slippers I mentioned before. I got one of the Scented heat up Penguins from Sage, a Penguin ornament, fuzzy socks, Jack (skellington) hoodie, a blue knit vest, touque/scarf/mitten set, New Jacket, black shirt.. probably more that I'm forgetting LOL.
OH, i bought a  label maker and Wii Speak with some of my christmas gift cards and money as well :)

Temples place was fun. No snow, and Kitty had a bad headache the whole time, and i had a headache for quite a bit. we arent used to the dryness of the Okanagan and the loudness. Children are LOUD, and Kitty and I are in general - really really quiet. we never watch movies loud,we sit and type with gentle music playing or drawing and painting... Loud is extremely hard to tolerate when you are used to extreme quiet.
I wish I could spend more time with Temple when we are there. Its hard because she's always jumping around doing absolutely EVERYTHING!

SO Friday I'm heading out to get my new computer. Hopefully I can get something affordable still after the boxing week madness! I'm terribly excited about that! I'll have to convince Jeri to help me lug it home, HEEE

Christmas Spirit tested

Had my merriment put to the test today.
got to surrey to mums house, then out the to grocery store, then back to mums and on the way back to mums she phoned me to remind me to bring my ID to get on the plane. Thats when I realized I didnt have it.
Westjet (plane company) had a 2 hour phone hold time and that was out of the question so I phoned Kelowna airport to try and see what could be counted as ID and they were useless. I did determine that nothing I had was sufficient. ANOTHER 10 dollars it would cost to train back home and back to surrey to pick up my id... But I had to go... So i left mums to head home filled with rage, and realized after getting one stop... forgot the house keys.. had to get off wait for a train going the other way, and get back to mums pick up the keys and back i go. took forever for the train too.

2 1/2 hours later i'm back at mums.

because we dont want to log things crazy huge back and forth as I mentioned before, we opened some presents tonight. I got lovely red jammies, a soft fluffy red house coat with funky bulldogs on it, Quatchi (one of the Olympic mascots for 2010 which i DO NOT support but wanted the slippers because ...he's cute and hes a Jacko and I love them!) Slippers, and a set of 4 stock pots, and they are fucking huge stock pots! i'm stoked about making a big pot of stew!!

From my aunt dewey kitty and I got a sushi for 2 set of dishes and some Nood pencil crayons that are cute as hell!

I just finished upgrading mums vaio laptop from vista to windows 7 and it is sensational! my mum doesnt do much but internet and the odd other thing on her laptop so she doesnt have many compatibility issues with hers.  Its great! excited for mine!
Tomorrow morning we are leaving for vernon! so there we go, hopefully all the crap i'm due is finished from the frustrating ordeal today, and the rest of my holidays are wonderful :D

watching pet patrol! woot!

Goodbye Vancouver

Thanks for the green christmas, bitch :|

We're going to Vernon tomorrow, but we leave for Surrey to my mums today. Tonight we have a mini christmas where we are opening some of our presents that are too big and therefore pointless to lug on a plane! We've got mum a couple things but most everything we have links to her main present that we don't want to give away HAHA! Tomorrow morning we run to catch our plane to Vernon to be with my sister. Kitty and I are bringing our oil paints. Can't miss this opportunity to plein air in the country!

On my last shift at work before my holidays I said merry christmas to someone and they gave me the dirtiest look ever! and then she spat bacl "happy HOLIDAYS"...

She had a santa in on her shirt....WTF?! really! she had talked with me about buying christmas presents, its not like she was jewish, or something else that would not want a merry christmas!

this "political correctness" fever that the world has caught is simply out of control!
We're supposed to celebrate our diversity here in canada by making everything neutral? well multiculturalism is fine but if we are going out of our minds crazy to celebrate chinese new year, and Punjabi festivals I want my fucking merry christmas's too!

so fuck you canada, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Anyways, will be back!

You Know You're an Animator When...

You think about the how many frames it would take to animate when you see your friends walking

A bouncing ball is much more complicated than it looks

Besides the 'compelling storylines' anime really does suck

MAYA is not just the name of a girl you know

Same goes for BRYCE

When teachers draw stick figures you doubt their teaching ability...

When you are used to hearing gasps when you tell people exactly how long it took you to animate 'those 15 seconds'

Disney is a building full of gods

You know who Glen Keane, Andreas Deja, Ub Iwerks, and Bill Plympton are

Paper dominates everything else in your room

You are always think of new things to animate, even while animating something else

Drawing 200 drawings in one night is not that uncommon for you

Hearing the word 'Modeling' does not make you think of photographing advertisements

Hearing "Flash" has no sexual connotation

Hidden Mickeys are everywhere

You know exactly why the Disney sequels suck

You know what PSD, MOV, AVI, and AEP files are

Tarzan is the greatest musculature ever

Not going to sleep all night is not unusual

You hate X-sheets, but you know if you don't use them, it will all fall apart

Damn $500 hole punches

You can see the color change in Ratigans Cape (Great Mouse Detective) as he moves and changes layers

Flash really is a bitch

You can easily convince people to let you draw them (they ask me)

People act like your career choice is awesome, but you know they are thinking "Where the hell is the money in animation"

You can find the 'soul' in Sully's eyes... but Polar Express looks like a scene from 'The Exorcist'

You never want to hear how many individual hairs were rendered in Sully fur, or feathers on Chicken Little... ever again

CGI is not as easy as people make it sound

Neither is timing out the damn lip sync

There is no greater joy than watching what you just drew nonstop for a month come to life

Someone asks you what you thought of an animated film and you comment on the animation techinques

You watch Fantasia especially for Night On Bald Mountain and think wish I could animate like Bill Tytla

You skip the Night On Bald Mountain because you are just jaw droppingly shocked at how much detail has gone into and how well animated the whole thing is.

You think Fantasia is one of the best animated films ever despite your friends moaning that it has a soundtrack of classical music

You watch a cartoon on TV and start noticing repeated frames or backgrounds with ease.

You know that Tim Burton started as an animator for The Fox And The Hound

You know that Tim Burton worked on The Black Cauldron

You know that Vincent was Tim Burton's first success at stop motion.

You know Tim Burton did not direct Nightmare Before Christmas .... OR....Coraline.

You know that Don Bluth walked out (with over 30 other members of staff)halfway through The Fox and The Hound.

You refuse to watch any movies by Don Bluth because face it... they are awful. (not all of them, but most DO suck)

-You want Tim Curry or Jim Cummings to voice a villain in a film of yours because they are just brilliant.

-You demand to know why Basil of Baker Street : The Great Mouse Detective is such an under appreciated film. Also Vincent Price makes a brilliant villain.

You want to cry when you hear the words from your tutor ''it's good but if you re do this bit'' with the knowledge that you have just drawn, fine lined, scanned, colored and edited together at least a minute's rough cut.

You say you do animation and your friends who don't do it say ''are you mad? how can you stand drawing that much?''

You try to be sneaky in using repeated frames and hope nobody notices...

You spend a lot of time listening to music while coming up with concept art or waiting for rendering

Someone (from outside the knowledge of animation) looks at your work and goes''is that it?'' despite the fact you have just been spending at least 7 hrs a day for 15 weeks working on it and you feel the sudden urge to thump them.

You have practically no social life when animating during crunch time.

Looney Tunes not only make you laugh but the artwork and animation is draw you back to watch again and again

Anything.... literally anything... can happen

Found this on facebook :)

In a few days I'm getting a brand new computer with enough Ram to kick animation ass! I bought Toon Boom 5 and its sitting here waiting to be installed on the new computer. I'm stoked, absolutely stoked. This Laptop is great for casual use but for what i want to do its really impossible!

I'm so excited for Toonboom 5 HAHA :D

Going to Vernon for Christmas

Last week of work before heading to Vernon for Christmas.
Works been kinda crazy for me actually. Trying to get everything ordered for while I'm gone and dealing with things that really shouldn't be an issue in the first place... Grr. Whatever. 4 more shifts, then I've got a couple days to pack then we head to mums and we are doing an early christmas at mums of stuff thats too big to take on the plane (pointless to take it there to unwrap just to take home again). I'm going to be making a trip to Planet Bee to get a ton of beeswax for myself and Maria (for encaustic painting). Exciting!
Maria's getting 6 blocks, and I'm not sure what I'm getting yet, but we'll see. Hee hee :)

Oh its exciting.
I'm really bummed that there is no snow though... off to paint :)

feel like poo.

UG, I feel like death. I have this nasty sore throat thing. i've had it before. its agony. Our bunny died as you know, and my friends mum died this morning. I'm so sad for her. My mums cat Checkers had a lump form on her tummy, then it got red. Mum took her to the vet and they wanted to charge 1000$ to just check if it was cancer and mum wasn't willing to do that, but then checkers chewed it open and she had a hole in her tummy the size of a toonie! it was so gross, so we rushed her to the vet and she had surgery today to get the mass that caused the bump removed and it was apparently quite huge inside. what was sticking out was quite small in comparison... poor Checkies has now a big huge incision on her tummy and has to roam around with a cone around her neck. But at least she's okay. I got my special order from work (half of it) of Aquabee Marker paper in 11x17 size so I'm going to do this issue of Daquermini on it :D I hoped it would come in time :D Whee :D Oh I've been playing animal crossing with Damphyr the last few days! Oh its fun to have someone to Wifi with :D HEEE!! I'm generous with fruit! HAHA! anyways, thats all from me. :B

life and such

Well, the day before yesterday our rabbit died. Little Ukio (aka Hitler) woke us up at 3:30am with a lot of noise in her cage. Given her weakened condition I knew she wasn't up for playing so I got up to check on her and when i reached in i grabbed her ear and tugged on it a little to see what she was doing (in a nice way- she used to like it) and she didnt move and she was cold. Jeri was awoken too and asked if she was dead and i said ya she was. Being that it was 3:30am there was nothing we could do, so we went back to bed, but sleep was not really going to happen. 'Bout a half hour later there was more noise from her cage. I was like "wtf?? not dead" so i turned on the light this time and looked in thinking she was being a bit of a brat, but when I saw her laying in her cage it was pretty clear she was on the way out.  we petted her and sat up with her a bit and just went back to lay in bed. There was more noise again and this time when we checked she was gone.

We went to mums house the next day. Very tired.

Well, on Nov 1 I get to go to "This is it". I'm pretty excited. Little concerned that I dont have my costume started at all right now and halloween is in a couple days. Our work is doing star trek theme and of course we wanted to be borg. so ya... I got some sculpey to work on haha!

Chrome

SO I'm back to using google chrome again. Its much faster than firefox, and if that wasn't enough (and believe me it is) its also more... what's the word... I dont know, but it doesnt fuck with me like fire fox does. I've only really used FF this long because of the fact that I had all these fire fox extensions that I used for dA but since I'm barely ever on dA anymore really I dont see the point in hanging onto that browser for something I don't use.

Its too bad, it was a great browser for a while.

I finished my entry for the Christmas card contest for work tonight. My goodness, it was a bit of a trial to shade all those poinsettias but I did it. I'll be Scanning it and posting it on my other blog shortly.
The prize is having 100 of the cards and a 100$ gift card to Opus so wish me luck :)

I've also recently discovered that Zune Social is now active in Canada so I've got my Zune Profile all setup now. I'm already collecting badges :)

OH I also went to the theatre at Metrotown to pick up my This Is It ticket! The Michael Jackson Movie. I was walking out with my ticket and I heard some girls walk by saying "I wanted to go to the Michael Jackson movie but it was sold out" HAHA! I was just delighted :D

WE also Hit every Sanrio or japanese trinket shop in Metrotown mall as well since Mum is always on the Look out for Animal Crossing goodies. OH yes, She is obsessed.

Okay, going to scan now! check out my other blog in a few mins to see it

Run for the cure

So my big sister temple is Running for the cure to breast Cancer. Some of you know (most of you don't because I don't tend to make a spectacle of these things) my Aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer and she's been going through the worst hell I've ever seen enduring the chemo and all that.

I'd really appreciate you guys donating to my sister run! She's running for my aunt and also her dad she lost to cancer 10 years ago.

If you cant donate, you can do a service by spreading the word for us, and hopefully spread it to someone who can donate :)

This is it!

That's right!! Nov 1/09 at 1pm I will be heading to Metropolis to see This is it! on the big screen! Bought my Ticket today online, picking it up next weekend!

Markers and Daiso

Whee! Jeri's just in the shower and then we are heading to Aberdeen Centre with Mum.  The New Canada line Skytrain replaced the B-line bus and so now there is a skytrain going right to it. they have a huge Daiso there and a Beard Papa's! So it should be fun.

I've recently bought quite a few Copic Sketch Markers and Various Refills! I mixed a lighter shade of Mauve shadow in an empty markers. Mauve shadow with blender.  I'm still a little miffed to lose my Trias because they had a lot more bold colours but I guess I cam Mix some now HAHA!

Staff discount is good. Copics are the most expensive markers available right now. The refills make it really affordable though.

Well I better go get dressed!
I might post a preview and some sketches of my drawings later :D

Christmas

SO I've ordered parts of my Christmas presents, painted, assembled, or created other ones. I'm off to a good start. If you were smart you'd have your christmas stuff started now so you don't bitch and whine about christmas later on. You will anyways, but I can tune you fucks out now ;)

Working On Presents

Christmas is coming up fast for people who make their gifts, so this weekend I'm starting on them. Temple is all sorted out. I've got to finish making one and one is in the mail I'll finish it up when that part arrives. I'm at a loss for Mum as usual though. Could do a painting, but she always want's stuff so far out of my area the most I can muster is a high school-esque job. I'll think of someone. Temple's boys are easy.

I have to work on a Hallowe'en costume too. We are doing a Star Trek Theme at our store for Hallowe'en, Kitty are I are going as Borg. I'm one of two, and shes two of two. HA!

Waiting for the First coat of Gesso to dry on 2 8x8 canvases for the Anonymous Art show. I hope to sell more paintings this year. I only sold 1 of the 3 I submitted last year, though I have sold prints of the other ones on dA which is nice. :)

My Dad won the auction for that charity painting and So I'm going to be framing it next week sometime too. Tuesday Or Wednesday I'll be ordering the frame for it. I'm going to double check the measurements when I actually get the painting back though, since canvases can be uneven, I don't want to have any problems.

Good times. Well, the Gesso should be dry by now I think! <3

Going to post a grainy preview of a painting on my Animated Guru blog. :)

Painting Sold

The verve Gallery Auction has ended and my painting sold as the highest bid! I'm happy it was my dad that won the auction but there was a bit of a bidding war for it, Ha ha :)

So I'll be picking it up for daddy next week, and framing it for him. I'm so pleased.
Tonight Kitty and I are going to have a Christmas like dinner. she's having chicken and we're having mashed 'tatos corn and stuffing and stuff like that :) haha! the overcast freshly rained days remind us of Christmas (because that's how Christmas weather is SUPOSED to be here).
So I'm going to go get that started :)

digital painting?

I thought having a shiney new tablet might be super inspiring but after 2 weeks of owning it I had done nothing (traditional or digital). Then today i said "fuckit!" and started playing with it and boom, I'm starting to be happy with the result of what I'm doing. Its a painting of MJ, and its digital, but those 2 things aside, I'm pretty pleased (not that I'm against painting MJ but It's just that when you want to work on your own stuff, fanart/ tribute art is a frustration)

anyways, Maybe I'll post it but ... i dunno. I'm not exactly fond of digital work and its more of an exercise than really a "creative thing" in fact, it isn't really creative at all - its just a photo referenced duplicate sort of... sometimes you need that though. to get the uncreative out of the way. Maybe just post it because there is a tribute category... we'll see if it still makes me happy when I'm done HAHA!

i started reading the very thick MJ biography (updated and re released) on Tuesday, and to my horror, I am at the end... And guess what!? HE DIED :<
Bad ending.
I'm surprised i burned through 2 books (ones around 3 inches thick) in less than a week but that what happens when art takes a vacation i guess.

anyways, I dont have much else to say... just felt like talking...

Tuesday 11 August 2009

art block

I am so tired of this 2 month long art block. I've done nothing but sit in front of blank canvases and listen to music. Thank god for music. I think I'd die without it. I don't think I realize how important music is to me until its all I have left.

Losing my Abba CD has pissed me off so much. I hadn't transferred all my music to my laptop when i bought it a couple years ago and for some reason never missed the abba until now. now I want it, and cant find it.

I figured out how to get Videos from you tube downloaded in small files for my Zune though so I have some fun music vids and randomness on my zune now! Crispin Glover, the Picard Song, and He-man means the seabus is less boring at 6 am HAHA!

I fucking Love my Zune! Next time I'mma get that 130gig one. its big HAHA!

I'm working on the artist trading card drawing that go in the Daqueran Pre sale comics. I did one today. at least I've drawn that much. UG. I just want to paint. Its so basic.

I remember countless times I've talked people out of their artist blocks. Someone has to rescue me this time...

Whatzupwitu

This is just too cute. the little doodles that float around. this thing just reeks of wholesome. <3

Monday 3 August 2009

funny day

Brought the Wii to mums today because she wanted to borrow it for the week, lugged it there just for them to say they didnt want it for the whole week. GRR.
We played Wii Sports Resort today. I love the basketball!HAHA

we went shopping and I got some new shoes and socks. Hightops. Black with black roses all over and tattoo art on the side. black and rainbow socks of course.
Temple sent me a pair of shorts to cope with the fucking heat. It's awful. i hate the heat, but the shorts are cool. comfy. they're Off white. I normally only wear dark colours but these off white ones almost match the off white pastey skin of my legs so its an interesting thing. HA!

I got a Michael Jackson T-shirt at the rock shop that is just stunning! i almost died when i saw it. I hoped but didnt expect to see one there. I go there for my serial killer shirts.
I wanted an Evil Dead shirt but they failed me. They made up for it with MJ

My new Intuos 4 Tablet kicks ass. It lets me be a southpaw. i dont have to adapt. I'm even using my mouse left handed. I'm out of control!

Gotta meet one the guy who I did one of the logos for tomorrow at 7pm, hopefully to get paid.
Well back to work tomorrow. I cant wait for my weekend again.

Sunday 26 July 2009

fucking heat

Phew, I am really disliking this summer.
The heat is getting to me. I drink too much (not alcohol), I sweat too much, the seabus stinks, the tourists! MY GAWD THE TOURISTS!
Theres been the Celebration of lights this week. for 2 weeks on Wednsday and Saturday there are LOUD fire works only a few short blocks and a nip out in the ocean from us. the swells of humans before and after the events could displace and ocean. Not to mention that fact that it sounds like canons going off right in our house.
Theres also parades. I had to go work on my day off because jeri was sick, and i had to wait a sailing on the boat and flipped off a mime just to get to the store. Pissed me off.

I'm also terribly shocked that poor michael Jackson has not been buried. He died a MONTH ago. Thats a long time. No peace in life, no peace in death. that poor man...

too hot to sit here.

Thursday 16 July 2009

Whee

Got to go home a bit early today, which was nice. I've been organizing my music files on my computer, getting album information and combining duplicate albums etc. Not too Exciting but its satisfying.

Works been... interesting. aside from the odd little situation coming up it's been the usual wonderful job, but some days just annoy me. Like...I am in there at 7am every morning, I'm the only one there for at least an hour and a half until the manager gets there. So i listen to my music. Lately Its been Michael Jackson. I go into phases where i will only listen to select things (artists, songs albums etc) and that's who its been lately (this started BEFORE he died. I've always loved MJ, its just a coincidence that he died while i was obsessing, or I killed him with my fandom, either way, I was listening before he died.) So ya, I had MJ playing (old disco songs) and the regional manager (who hangs around TOO much at our place) asked me to change the music when he came in because he was sick of MJ. Keep in mind, We dont have any TV here, and i dont listen to radio. any exposure I have to stuff is self inflicted, so I don't get sick of things that are flooding media (unless its the internet, but then I selectively browse etc).
It annoyed me HOW he asked me.
Anyways, I asked my manager if I could bring in mini speakers just for the time that I'm alone there (before the store opens) and she said it was okay. so thats what I'm going to be doing. If he comes in he can play whatever he wants over the store stereo, I'll have mine in the back.

Roar. I'm finding i regret very much not being MORE involved in my MJ fandom. I've always been a fan (sorta closetted but I never denied it) and so I had only a few songs actually on my mp3 players. I only owned one album before he died... now I regret not paying more attention while he was alive and seeing this stuff when it was new. Music videos I never had an interest in for most music, but his are just great and ... well.

Anyways.

Whats new?

I watched nightmare before christmas the other day. I missed it. I hadn't seen it in a while. I used to watch it every day. I must say, I'm not terribly impressed with the screenshots and promo images I've seen of 'Burtons Wonderland". I'm a big fan of Burton, but the CG just.... UG. It seems the Oposite of Burton really. I remember reading something about him saying that he believed that CG should be used as an assisting tool, and wasn't fond of CG, then he goes and makes one of those movies. Just... Ew. The part that struck me the most was the faces in the Roses in the screenshots. They seemed so generic and didnt have any burton charm. just faces on roses? c'mon he's more creative than that!

I'm dreading it to be honest.

I attempted painting last night and it was awful. I think I'll draw some tonight. I think we have 5 more discs of star trek to go through, HAHA.

Thursday 9 July 2009

Annoying Day

Oof. The week hasn't been so bad overall, but today just annoyed the shit out of me. Monday I had to go to the warehouse for 'training' which is really a formality at this point since I've been doing the job for 6 months or more already. I just learned a little trick or two. It was definitely satisfying to see how happy the warehouse staff is with my work :) i got lost on the way because its in a fucking annoying place, but after phoning and waking Jeri up to google map it, I was fine. I was done by 1pm too which was nice.

This Week our New coordinator started. He's transferred from another Opus store so he's worked for Opus for many years and he's very good. He's a very nice guy, he really is but today he pissed me off. All week he asks "what are you working on?" so many times that you begin to feel scrutinized, and then today he had a customer asking about the status of an order. All pending orders are in the box labeled "waiting to Arrive" There is no information in the POS system for orders because I use a Purchase ordering system. All my orders are sent electronically through a different part of our computer system called "Silk". The staff fill out little forms for the stock requests, I fill them out in the Purchase order, send it and then the form the staff fill out gets filed in the "waiting to arrive" box. when the stock arrives then it gets put on hold in the POS.
Well our coordinator I guess did it differently in his other store and said some comment about the need to have something in silk to refer to. I was totally confused... Why when the box is right there? Why have 2 pieces of paper work? why go through all that extra work? it didnt make any sense to me at all. I questioned his statement but we left it as it was... I rang in a customer and the POS froze on me as I was accepting payment.
I fucked around with it for a bit then the coordinator fucked around a little too, and got it back up. Well the person paying, paid with a Mastercard with a chip on it, and since we dont handle the chip cards we dont get Expiry dates on the cards so we just put the expiry as 1111 for those ones since the visa terminal will record it digitally from the card anyways. So the coordinator goes to finish the transaction for the customer and asks me the expiry date and i told him about putting 1111 and he said "um, no you should never be doing that." then asked the customer for it... whatever... then he said "i'll have to make a list of everything you guys are doing wrong".

Well naturally that pissed me off. We work damn hard, and long to get the system set up how we have it after life with our Previous inventory was such a nightmare of fucked up paper work. Our system works, and we like it and we are sick of changing things around. So I went back to work doing my own thing, and later told Jeri about how pissed I was. She said I should talk to Ann, our manager about it because it was so innapropriate, but I didnt get an opportunity. Jeri told Ann that she should check on me because I was pissed about it and told Ann, so Ann said that Yes, Coordinator had mentioned it to her and she said we weren't changing anything at all, and told him that we were supposed to put the expiry date the way I said.

I was like " so I'm not doing everything wrong?! yay!" I've felt so scrutinized and watched this week and I really shouldnt be. I've never done anything to warrant being watched. I'm a very capable and "above and beyond" worker, and I've had my work cut out for me the last few weeks. The counts and the sale and all the ordering has been killer.
Now I have a months worth of Framing ordering to catch up on. If the Framing company sends the stoff on Tuesday like they're supposed to, then I'll be okay I think, but if they send it tomorrow, I'm hooped :B Fridays are too hard to get that much work done.
Maybe I should have split the order up over 2 Runs but I didnt want to. HA.

I keep staring at my humminbird painting for mum that I havent worked on in a while, knowing I have to work on it. I might just work on it now.... Right after I take mums animal crossing character to get a Bubble wand from Phineus, if he's stil in the City :p

Since my dA page isn't much good for posting art at all since most features ignore the film gallery, and I have maybe..... 2 people who actually comment on my work, I might take everything down and move it to a personal gallery on my domain. What do you think? I have a domain, I should use it right? No one comments, so I'll not have comments able and I wont miss anything! Or make it like a blog feed or something.. I dunno. Seems like a good plan to me. I'll just need a stellar website design to inspire me, and that might take a while.

So ya, We had a long week at work. It's hard being completely chipper all the time though. especially since I've been surprisingly bummed about Michael Jacksons Death. Every now and then I wanted to be like "okay, someone else wave the pompoms and make ME laugh!". Oh well. We finished the inventory count pretty early, so we had a long afternoon too.

I've got a few things going on, that I'll blog about in Animated Guru :)

Bye Bye MJ

Well, I'm definitely hurting after hearing Michael Jackson Died. 50 isn't very old to die suddenly like that. So Sad. I heard at work and it was horribly distracting all day.

I ... Think I'm a celebrity killer...

- I was watching and obsessing over Steve Irwin when he died
- Bought several Heath ledger movies and was greatly anticipating The Dark Knight when he died
- Was obsessing over Roy Scheider when he died.
- Watched and watch season one of Golden Girls when Bea Arthur died (on my birthday)
- Have been listening to Only Michael Jackson for the last week, obsessing... He died today.

Sadness for Farah Fawcett too, but I wasn't as familiar with her, but I have much sympathy for her terrible struggle.

Well, My mums not answering any of her 3 phones, and its freaking me out...
I hate that.

RIP Michael Jackson :<

hmm, interesting

I got an interesting email from a Cyber School asking me to do an online demo and interaction with student mentors. I'm curious, but I generally find these sorts of things difficult to schedule and plan for. We'll see.

Gunna play more animal crossing. I have NO friends codes to play with people yet.. i hate you all :<

Lonsdale Block Party

So the other day Ann asked me of I wanted to Paint on a big canvas for a charity thing on Saturday. I said sure, not really knowing what it was, then at the staff meeting Ann said that i was a features Graffiti Artist at the RDS (Skate Shop) Block party. OH really :B

My Painting will be sold at a charity Auction. There will be a website I'll link to as soon as I get that information. I hope it sells :D
It was done on a 46" x 60" Canvas, using only Plutonium spray paint.
I have NEVER used spray paint before LOL! I'm so surprised and quite pleased with how well I did, considering... you know... I love to experiment :D

My left hand is terribly sore. TERRIBLY! I have a big bruise on the base of my index finger from trying to smash the caps on the ground to open them (as per the instructions on the can, where they expect you to pop the tops by slapping the top on the can, but it takes several whacks on concrete!) and my index finger is bruised from the actual pushing of the caps to spray! Holy heck. I think it will be pretty sore tomorrow too. I was painting for around 6 hours with only minimal breaks. I'm surprised I didn't get heat stroke. I was in direct sun the whole time.

anyways, hope you like it!
I got a 25$ gift card to opus for my painting so I'm going to get some Pro markers and some letraset paper since we have discontinued all the Letraset stuff at the store, I have to grab what I can :(

new game, and stuff

Turned out Mytoons took a nose dive so my favourite place to upload animations is gone. Found out because someone reported that the Trailor for Conflagration was a broken link on our site.
so I re-uploaded it to Aniboom. Aniboom is good and fast but not as cozy as mytoons. I'll miss them :( And No I have no intention of Uploading it to dA. The uploader is too slow, and without a loading bar or any other indication of uploading besides a swirly dot, I dont even know if its working and most times its NOT. I loved dAFilm. I wish they'd work on it more and get it up to snuff.

SO, i got a new router! Some of you knew i had problems with my router just dropping the internet anytime it wanted, and I'd have to go unplug it, replug it back in and wait each time. It made skype conversations irritating, and uploading was brutal! I'd have to shove everything on a flash drive and take it to kittys computer and upload it there. I'd also almost never have it connect automatically when i started my laptop. I'd have to go fiddle with the router to get it to work the first time.
The new router is faster than my old one, and its connecting automatically, its password protected so people cant steal it from me, and so far, no problems. Installation was a BITCH though. but it worked :)

Not sure what I'm going to do today. I know i have a PILE of stock photos to upload to my stock account, and to enter in LDDs contest, i should really do that or I'll miss the deadline. Some of my Alberta photos and some more from the aquarium.

and i should take the opportunity to work on conflagration some but my tablet pen lost its rubber grip due to the ravages of time and now it makes my hand bleed if i use it too long :|

Got resident Evil 4, Wii version yesterday, and some more cradled panels to paint on. I've also been using Oil pastels to draw little thumbnails for future paintings. its been fun, but I don't like pastels much, they just seem to be useful for creating the look for my thumbs.

well, I need food.

Road trip with Daddy Day 7&8

Well we are back home! Yesterday we were so exhausted we didn't get a hotel until 1am so I didnt Blog.

We started out early in the morning to head for Vernon, and FINALLY we saw all the animals we were wanting too! A group of big horns standing in the middle of the highway, a few deer on the sides of the highway, and a young bear standing on the side of the road with an ambulance. He looked like he'd been hit. poor thing.

We went to Frank slide, which was AMAZING! My photos don't do it justice! its a simply MASSIVE rock slide! Amazing history! We also hit on some Cemeteries around Frank and HillCrest, where the huge mining disaster was. There are simply awesome graveyards! Prairie Dogs are burrowing through the graves. HAHA!

From Road trip with Daddy Day 7&8

In the HillCrest Cemetery I had been walking around taking pictures (I got some GREAT ONES! Please look) I had been stepping on the Liner lids (the concrete tops) of some of them to squish into some areas for photos and then I went to step up on one and WUMP! it dented in as a I stepped on it - It was PLASTIC! Scared the SHIT OUT OF ME!!

I love the wooden Crosses!
From Road trip with Daddy Day 7&8

Canada takes a lot of tourism bad rap because people say the country isn't old enough to have a huge amount of interesting history to Explore - that's SO wrong! There is SO much! Frank Slide, HillCrest Mine, Drumheller Dinosaur bone beds, and all that awesome stuff! that was all just what we saw in a WEEK! Most of that in one day even! There is an amazing amount of stuff in BC and Alberta that we discovered.

Did you know that the Most complete T-rex Skull Comes from Crowsnest Pass? HA! its true! Called black beauty because the minerals made the fossil all black.

From Road trip with Daddy Day 3
From Road trip with Daddy Day 2

So amazing!! I took so many photos...

We made it to Vernon and when we pulled up there was a deer in Temples front yard! HAHA! We stayed and chatted a while, Then we headed off. I guess we chatted longer than we thought, and soon realized that we were not going to make it far that night. we grabbed some burger king and tried to find a motel, but they were all either full, seedy or no one was there :B
The Motel was the worst of all of them, but we didnt sleep long and we headed home to Vancouver! we saw one deer today!

Well, I wish it wasnt over, but it is, and i'm back to work tomorrow.

Heres the map.

and here is the last load of Photos.
(as of posting this, Picasa is still syncing pictures, there should be over 300 photos in this album)

There is a total of 2025 photos in my albums :p
Enjoy!

Road trip with Daddy Day 6

Today was a little less eventful than most days this week but thats okay. daddy needed the break from driving and I ended up being rather sick so it worked out.
We (daddy, jeri, me and aunt sid) all went to the Temple Hill Cemetery in Raymond where daddy lived as a kid. I took several photos of graves from my pioneer family.

From Road trip with Daddy Day 6

i'll add captions with who these people are in the photos as soon as I get a reminder :p some of them i cant read because the sprinkler make them too low contrast.

Any named Weaver, or Jones in these pictures are my family - the original pioneers of canada :)

we also spent some time in Raymond itself and photographed several of the houses that daddy or some of the people from the cemetery photos lived in. Very neat. I love hearing the stories of daddy's adventures, like filling the bathtub with frogs, and jumping off roofs using a bed sheet as a parachute.

my favourite is falling down the well though :p
they were playing house, and daddy lept on top of a covered well saying "this is my bed!" and fell through the top of the well which ended up only being burlap covering it, and he was stuck in the well. Aunt sid Pulled him out and cried all the way home.

Cute <3

Kinda sick today. feel much better now. puked enough. BLEG!

sleepy. Early day tomorrow. Heading to Vernon in the morning, then home by Sunday afternoon.

not many pictures but enjoy them :D

road trip day 4 & 5

Haven't blogged in a couple days, but the photos are up
Day 4:
we went to dinosaur national park. first thing we did was flush out a cute rabbit! got some good pictures of him and the hoodoos.
We were a bit early so we had to wait for the little museum to open but that was cute and fun too :)

we went through vauxhall on the way to lethbridge, avoiding Brooks this time because brooks fails.
there were very large fiber glass potatoes in vauxhall.
about 25 kms from Taber we finally saw the antelope we'd been waiting for but it was only one and by the time i saw him he was behind a fence. LAME.
no pictures.
we got to Lethbridge and saw a house daddy lived in, his old school and other fun things.
we played down by a river, and then went to aunt Sid's house and then Cousin stephanies.
Good times.

Day 5:

we went to smitty's for breakfast then went to Magrath to see a little cemetary that might have held family graves, but didnt. there were prairie dogs all dipping in and out of holes in the graveyard. i pictured them nesting in the skulls.

we moved on to waterford park. a big national park. we went into a little village and right in someones front yard was a big horn sheep with huge curly horns sleeping in someones yard. OH on the way to the park a red fox with the puffiest tail ran in front of the van and bounded in the field! very cute!

we went up to Head smashed in Buffalo Jump too! We saw where the natives ran bison off the cliffs to hunt the huge herds. Very neat. the little museum in there is pretty neat too.

we drove around and saw a grizzly bear, a couple deer, and then we went to a bison paddock and there were many bison! i was really happy with all the photos I took.
On the way back we stopped at Fort McLeod and did a little walk through of the old fort. it was awesome!

Then we headed back to aunt Sid's and we talked with her for a while and had dinner.

Now its Day 6, but I'll try to do a real blog for day 6 later :B

PS: There is something we've been getting frequently - prairie paralysis. Its from driving more than 5 minutes through prairie. It is such boring landscape that your head just bobs and you fall asleep. Its scary!
Soon after Prairie Paralysis, if you are unfortunate enough, you get.... Prairie Madness. Symptoms include Hallucinations, and seeing wildlife where some should be but aren't.

Scary business!

Check the 2 days worth of photos!

Road trip with Daddy Day 3

Day 3.
The royal Tyrell museum was as big a thrill today as it was yesterday :)
i took a pile more photos of course.
After the Museum we stopped by Fossil World, a mini museum and at first it was a simple little museum with trinkets. One full size trex skull, and a femur from a sauropod, and a huge life sized trex sculpture, until you walk in its line of sight, and realize its animatronic! LOL! I'll upload the videos later :)

We were on our way to Dinosaur provincial Park but it closes at 4pm so we decided to take it easy today here in Brooks. They had a cute museum, and some little attractions.

We tried to get a motel, but they all needed credit cards to get rooms, which sucks. we ended up at a Ramada. we aren't into this ramada shit, we like motels. they're cheaper and more spacious.

Oh well, we're here for now.
Here are the photos :)

Road trip with Daddy Day 2

Well day 2 has been a delight. We started off at 5:30am. I got up and got ready and we met daddy outside and we were off to denny's. Kitty and I had french toast.

From Day2 - Road Trip

The drive was awesome! we went from Revelstoke along to Golden and into Banff all the way to Drumheller.

From Day2 - Road Trip

We had a tough time getting some animal sightings but like day 1, we had an animal attempt suicide under the van. this time a chipmunk. but he lived... I think :B

The trees were very cute and round, I did a few sketches.
There was alot of dirty snow still on the ground, our ears were popping again going over the rockies, In the rocky mountain Trench.

We stopped and had to clean off the windows because of the bug splatter obscuring the view HAHA!
From Day2-folder2 - alberta road trip

the bumper still looks like this, only worse in most places. the bee is tragic.

We saw one herd of deer, and one solo deer. of course our photos suck. we saw one pronghorn as well, but it was a head in the grass. we are not 100%
i might have also seen a bear running in the distance :B

We made it to drumheller after tons of plains and prairie and hoodoo's. the museum was awesome :D we got 2 day passes so we are going back again tomorrow, then heading to dinosaur national park.

well, here it is so far!
Check out my photos!

Road trip with Daddy Day 1

Day 1 of the trip. So far a delight! I've been jotting notes in my notebook the whole time. Tomorrow We are more than half way to Drumheller - Dinosaur land! We'll be in Alberta tomorrow!
Here is the trip so far!

We started off around 11am, and headed to Mums so mum and dad could visit, and the Trip just from Vancouver to Surrey was the worst part! HAHA! WE had the hardest time getting on the Patullo Bridge! ROAR. I hate that bridge.
Anyways, we were on our way. The views along the drive are absolutely stunning, and its awesome how the scenery changes as you travel into the interior more.
Planes twice flew down pretty close to us to land in a air strip beside the road HAHA!

There was a funny man in an old car with driving gloves and a hat LOL!

On the Freeway to Hope a Coyote ran so close to the van in front of us we almost killed it! His tail was bigger than his whole body HA! Gave us quite a scare.
Chillawack is Loaded with cows. We stopped in Hope at a gas station for the bathroom and more coke.
We were on the Freeway that is actually the old Carriboo Gold Rush trail. Its really Neat. Daddy told us a little story of taking his mum to Barkersville, which is a historic town that was left in its original state after the gold rush and now people dress up in Clothes of the time and its a tourist place. Anyways, sometime in the 60's I think, Dad took his mum there and they went into the little courthouse where they had pretend trials and pull people from the audience, and they pulled Dads mum and threw her in Jail and it too 20$ to release her HAHA!

There were some funny signs on the way:

OM LOL?

There were many trees all dead and brown from being ravaged by pine beetles. It was a tragic sight for sure. Otherwise green hill sides only spotted with Green.

We went to Hells Gate... Yes its in Canada.

it's actually a big canyon with a tram. we didnt go on the tram, but we just played around there. I gathered some grasses to pres in my book for later use in encaustics.

There were a pile of dead alkaline likes that looked all icy at first but then you realize its poisonous scum madness.

There were a few little nasty cow farms mixed into the otherwise green and lush happy cow farms. see this, its almost torture for those cows to be stuck in these brown pens beside a huge lush green field.

There were many Ginseng farms as well. you can tell them from the black Mesh

Amazing Scenery :D

So we are now in Revelstoke, in the canyon Motor Inn :)

Its a nice little place with a kitchenette :D
Tomorrow, we are off again :D

Alarm set for 5:30AM :D

Road Trip With Daddy

So tomorrow morning we are leaving for our Road Trip with Daddy :)
I'm Very excited :)
We went to Kates today to drop off the keys to the apartment, and got the shavings for the bunnys cage so its cleaned now. should be fine until we get back, we put puppy training Pads around the litter box in case of "accidents" that are probably vengance pees. LOL!!!
Fucking Stormy, Man.

Anyhoo, Gotta get up in the morning to clean the house because I'm too exhausted now, and gotta pack up everything tomorrow and tonight. Thats right, I've had these plans for a month and have not yet packed. You like that?
I bought a couple little sketchbooks, and a set of pastels for the trip to do some colour sketches and such. I'm also bringing my laptop mainly to dump my photos onto as they pile up but If the hotels have Wifi I can check my emails and shit.
I'm excited for stock HA! OMG I'm going to have SO many photos, its going to be scary. LOL

I'll have fun, And hopefully Photo blog along the way :)

Naked Men in the city

Well... Almost naked. He did have his underwear full of holes on, I'll give him that.

The story is, we are just leaving Stanley Park after a long time at the aquarium, and there is a pond that usually houses many geese and ducks, and is loaded with delightful pond scum, and goose poo. Technically its probably a very rich habitat for wildlife but for humanity, its generally a scum pond that's nice to look at. to this guy, it was a water fountain, bathtub, and swimming pool.

Pictures or it didn't happen right?

Here he is! Not only did he walk around in it, and wade over to the ducks and disturb them, but then he proceeded to go to the gungy bank of it, swirl some silt around, and DRINK it... Ya man, real Smart.

We had a Blast at the Aquarium. The birds in Flight were awesome, I didn't get many good pictures of the "flight" part but the actual birds were really close sometimes and I got good photos of them on the perches, taking off and landing.

WOOT it was awesome. 400 photos later, and my stock account is going to be pretty flooded soon ;p

Some cute monkeys and turtles too :)

I'll do that tomorrow. For now, I'm going to make some encaustic Medium so I can do the Encaustic 101 for Alysia :)

Stay tuned for that on my Experimental Guru Blog. Should be great :D

Friday 15 May 2009

Long Weekend

So, our new(ish) boss Ann is pretty awesome! Shes fair and she's not likely to let you get away with something , which I like. She brought cookies today haha! She also managed to give all the full timers an actual 3 day weekend! so I get Saturday, Sunday & monday off! so awesome :D

Tomorrow I plan on doing more encaustics (a mentioned in a blog on Animated Guru), and hopefully create something with a little more pizzaz than the one I did. i wish I had an iron, I'd like to smooth things out more. I'll have to see if I can make one HAHA! I really like the effects that encaustics gives though... MOAR!

Sunday we're going to the aquarium for the birds of prey in flight exhibit that's going on right now. Many photos to add to the stock account for sure :)

Monday I haven't decided XD
for now, I'm going to go play mario Kart on my wii.

HAHA funny story about pavlova

So, yesterday we met my mum at the Quay in North Van because she was there in the hotel. We had a bit of Dinner then I suggested getting our favourite treat, Pavlova! Mum said, No she already tried, the guy said they were all out of Pavlova singles, but they had a log. we don't like the logs so much, so he said come back tomorrow.

So we were sad and mum rarely gets them, but Kitty said why don't I try to get some since i get them quite often there. Mum was very skeptical. so I did it, I went and tried. I went over to the pavlova place and I asked for them, and he was like "you don't want a log?" and i said no I wanted singles if he had them. He said "was your mum just here?" I said "sorry? What?" and he said "nevermind"... LOL ;) then he proceeded to pull out the pavlovas from the back, and pile extra strawberries on them for me! HA! Kitty said to mum that I wouldn't be taking so long if I wasn't getting them so she popped around, saw me and ran back to mum "Omg shes paying!" Mums all like "WTF?" Then i marched up to them pavlovas in hand XD Mum was just stunned "how'd you do that?!?!" I was like " he put extra strawberries on them for us too"

It was awesome XD

Stock Photos and Videos

So we went to Stanley Park last weekend and I took a lot of stock photos and videos. Mostly relating to Special Effects Classical Animation type reference for the videos and stuff. I think some of it turned out pretty good. I got my standard Seagull and Squirrels with attitudes photos. There were also a few eagles roaming around that sneaked their way into some photos of trees.

heres a preview of some of the photos :

you can see the rest at our stock account on deviantART - Gurukitty

Now, anyways. I was so grateful to be able to do my laundry today! HAHA! it was getting a little bit desperate. i hate the idea of doing laundry but once its done its like "oh ya, that wasn't so bad". I'd do it all the time if i had insuite. I hate going downstairs to do it. Pisses me off to have to leave the house to do it. LOL. I don't know why.

I'm gunna post an animated guru blog starting off some character bios, and do the dishes today too.

The wii has been terribly addictive, but mum gets it for the next 2 weeks so I might get something done. LOL

Anyways, uploading the video footage now so be sure to check it out later. gunna go tackle dishes then start posting my bios on my characters. Those wil lBe on Animated Guru, so be sure to check it out :)

Scout :D

I'm an artician scout :D

I got my membership package to the Aquarium today, along with a letter from the Aquarium saying that they declared my whale that I adopted, Seaforth, Officially dead, and got me to pick a new whale :< I picked a young fella named Current. They'll send me a new certificate, but I cant bear the idea of taking out my old certificate :( he might be dead, but That doesnt mean he needs demoting.

Very sad...

but I am going to the aquarium on Sunday with Kitty, Jam, and a few others and I'll pick up my annual pass :)

Wii

Mum Got us a Wii For our birthday. It's been great fun :D the Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility has been so awesome! I think its one of the best in the Harvest moon series. I have a flock of chickens, a silk worm, and a goat so far. Its very cute, and challenging to raise money in.

We spent most of the weekend at mums eating ice cream cake and playing wii sports. Usually the game that comes with the system is pretty shitty, but Wii Sports is AWESOME! it really is! it uses the motion controllers the best! we were sore from bowling and golfing :D HA HA!! It's amazing and its fun, and its also fun to play with mum! We got Mario Kart and Animal crossing as well. I've not figured out how to get friends codes, or enter friends codes yet, but we will :D

I also got Joes book Experimental Magic. Its a MUST HAVE for Animators of all kinds! WOW, I was anticipating this book for a long time, and I was not disappointed. Joe did a nice little splash drawing in my book too <3

Back to help Kitty with harvest moon XD shes hitting geysers in the mine and is freaking out XD

Thank you everyone who wished me birthday wishes on facebook and dA! I appreciate it :D

Thursday 23 April 2009

4 days off :)

We're getting the Wii on saturday, so i'm going to pick up Animal Crossing: City Folk too! I'm excited! I cant wait to get Joes book!

I was suposed to have my interview for the Inventory position at work today, but they postponed it until next Thursday. They Interviewed the Guy from Langley today, and gave him the tour. Anyways, going to watch Golden Girls :D
DVD's are awesome :)

Cleaning up

Phew, been cleaning up a storm today. Cleaned up my little area over here at my computer, and scrubbed the bathroom from top to bottom.. well maybe waist down, but that's where the gunge piles. It's amazing the colours that a bathroom turns for 2 artists with no studio ;)

We figured now was a good time for a deep clean, so we can have an easier time just maintaining before we go away in May. I've still gotta pull out my bench and see whats gathered up behind me here, but I can do that later on.

I've only got a 3day work week this week because we've booked a couple days off (Friday and Saturday) for our birthday weekend.
Friday during the day I'm heading to H&R block to get my taxes done, and Friday evening We're going to stop at Opus Downtown to get my Copic marker set, and to Joe's book launch.

My mum just texted me and asked if i heard about dad being in the hospital. NO, I hadn't. now he skype isnt sending the messages so we cant even contact him.

Ug, I hate things like that.

Phew. Bushed from cleaning. now time for more little house on the prairie and some drawing time. or airbrushing... I'm not sure what :D

Well, I'm abandoning my Live journal. Its not as fun s blogger :p Plus I have my other blogs here anyways, it makes sense to contain them all. More people can follow here because next to everyone on earth has a google account to follow me :)

Today was interesting. Starting with last night, before we went home from work, we noticed this little calendar on the wall at work listing all the vacation time booked off by staff, and we noticed that we had the end of may booked. I didn't argue, but when we got home daddy was on skype, and he said he wanted to take us on a road trip to Alberta! He said, all expenses paid and no camping LOL! We'll finally be able to go to the Royal Tyrell dinosaur museum and see real dio country! We're also heading into Lethbridge. Awesome, I'm so excited.

This morning as we were waiting for the seabus, Kitty Squeed at something and when I looked up a huge bald eagle swooped into the docking bay, scooped up a black duck and swooshed away with a huge flock of seagulls screaming at him all the while! it was so amazing! Then Kitty phoned mum to tell her about it, and mum asked if we'd like to get a wii and play wii all day for our birthday instead of going out somewhere, since it's likely to be less fun weather on our birthday.

OKAY YA SURE KTHX!!! I DUN MIND ATTAL!!

HAHA! so it's proven to be an interesting couple of days! LOL

Jammy called in sick today, the day was chaos that short staffed on a Saturday. so was the night before, when jam left sick. I hope she feels better, and she gets back to normal soon. She's been downtrodden and negative lately. Hopefully things will look up after she has some time off.

Yesterday also, there were Reps from Canson (paper company) in the store and they gave us this Schpiel about Papers and how they're better than everyone else - which in itself annoyed me, but I have to remember they're american, and in all cases in my experience when it comes to reps, the americans act like its a sale, and will down talk all other brands, while every other countries reps will let the product sell itself. The thing that annoyed me about these guys is, he's talking about the double sided print paper, and he says " and this ladies, when you get married, or (gestures to ann) if you already are is what you're photographer for your wedding album would use, and make you a nice book to display your beautiful photos, 2 sided"

Ann is not married, and about 90% of the staff of Opus care more about paint than marriage, but besides that, WTF? you're selling Canson Artists Paper TO ARTISTS!! hello, fucking KNOW your audience you retard. i was so annoyed at that very narrow minded comment, but also annoyed that he wasn't even giving us the credit of being artists. The other Rep that was with him chimed in about how it could make an awesome portfolio as well - he probably saw the raised eyebrows his partners comment recieved. But gawd, really It was amazing how he completely ruined that experience. He had an opportunity to make us really gung ho about thier papers and he just wasted it.

Oh well, I'm going to go watch some Little House on The prairie and then go to bed :)
