Day 4:
we went to dinosaur national park. first thing we did was flush out a cute rabbit! got some good pictures of him and the hoodoos.
We were a bit early so we had to wait for the little museum to open but that was cute and fun too :)
we went through vauxhall on the way to lethbridge, avoiding Brooks this time because brooks fails.
there were very large fiber glass potatoes in vauxhall.
about 25 kms from Taber we finally saw the antelope we'd been waiting for but it was only one and by the time i saw him he was behind a fence. LAME.
no pictures.
we got to Lethbridge and saw a house daddy lived in, his old school and other fun things.
we played down by a river, and then went to aunt Sid's house and then Cousin stephanies.
Good times.
Day 5:
we went to smitty's for breakfast then went to Magrath to see a little cemetary that might have held family graves, but didnt. there were prairie dogs all dipping in and out of holes in the graveyard. i pictured them nesting in the skulls.
we moved on to waterford park. a big national park. we went into a little village and right in someones front yard was a big horn sheep with huge curly horns sleeping in someones yard. OH on the way to the park a red fox with the puffiest tail ran in front of the van and bounded in the field! very cute!
we went up to Head smashed in Buffalo Jump too! We saw where the natives ran bison off the cliffs to hunt the huge herds. Very neat. the little museum in there is pretty neat too.
we drove around and saw a grizzly bear, a couple deer, and then we went to a bison paddock and there were many bison! i was really happy with all the photos I took.
On the way back we stopped at Fort McLeod and did a little walk through of the old fort. it was awesome!
Then we headed back to aunt Sid's and we talked with her for a while and had dinner.
Now its Day 6, but I'll try to do a real blog for day 6 later :B
PS: There is something we've been getting frequently - prairie paralysis. Its from driving more than 5 minutes through prairie. It is such boring landscape that your head just bobs and you fall asleep. Its scary!
Soon after Prairie Paralysis, if you are unfortunate enough, you get.... Prairie Madness. Symptoms include Hallucinations, and seeing wildlife where some should be but aren't.
Scary business!
Check the 2 days worth of photos!
