Everyones so whiney lately! 'Im so tired' 'lifes hard' 'cry cry'. ..suck it up. I'm all the things too, but i try not to let it ruin every single day of my life. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! Dont sit around complaining all the time, you're becoming a drag and no one will have any sympathy for you if you don't make any efforts to improve your own situation. Takes some vitamins, slug a red bull and move on.
If its soooo bad that it's interfering with your life, go get medical help! No one can do it for you and theres only so many pep talks a person can give before giving up.

Help us get to Calgary Expo

We are taking a big leap in our Comic Convention adventures. This time we're diving into Calgary Expo. We've heard great things from other people who've attended the Expo, and we're really excited to take our comics there! By the time the expo is here we should have ghost tales and maybe even Hello Albertosaurus at least available for Pre-order! Excite!

Now there is a small issue of funding. It costs a lot to travel these days. especially by plane and with lots of Luggage. To sell for 3 days, thats a Lot of merchandise. We need 2 plane tickets, hotels, and other costs. We live rather simple lives so we don't need much. Please take a look at our campaign below:

Business Plans

You know, I'm fed up with working for people who don't appreciate my dedication and work. I'm always throwing myself into my jobs, dedicating so much passion and energy into supporting that company and my work to be completely under appreciated and never get anything from these jobs. No more! I'm going to shift that energy into my own work.
In Vancouver, Business licences expire every year on Dec 31. My goal is to be ready to get a business license, and purchase it on Jan 1 2012.

So our plans right now, are to work hard, get Hello, Albertosaurus, Daqueran, and BATP completed and out to the world so we can have stuff to sell. We'll make a couple art books as well, and some other misc merchandise... Attend lots of cons.
 I'm going to come up with a business plan so we have an outline of our goals. I'm going to run online classes and workshops to save up money to have a financial cushion as well as "business" money set aside to purchase products and stuff. We wont really have must start up cost or expense really, beyond living expenses. Most everything we do can be print on demand sort of things, or order online via places like IndyPlanet.

I expect that the first 6 months or so of official business life wont be profitable, but ideally I'd like to go down to part time at Opus in Mid 2012, and wean off of the safety job all together within a couple years.

The Classes I run I think are crucial to the saving. We simply don't make enough money to really save too much right now, But the classes go into my Paypal account so then it sits there and it takes forever to transfer out, so we don't bother to, LOL. Then the money is there to use to order product. LOL.

I've been looking for some information on Taxes etc as well and so far it seems like we'll not have to worry about that right away.

Anyway, Wish us good Luck. We'll Put Gurukitty Studios on the map :D

MY FEET LOOK AWESOME, AND ARE GOING TO CONTINUE LOOKING AWESOME CUZ I HAVE SPATS ON THEM! THATS RIGHT!

My plans are to spend every free moment working on hello, Albertosaurus and hopefully start posting chapter 1 online as a teaser (the rest of the chapters need to be bought!)
I've got a few non work related plans! 1 is to go to mummy's house tomorrow, and next Saturday as well.

Also I have a day planned with :devaluminiumdonut: to go watch DRIVE ANGRY (for OBVIOUS REASONS) and have some funtimes!

:excited: so glad to have 12 days offfffff :D AWOO :D

BLORG

Well, despite one "complaint" (first I've ever gotten on any of the classes I've EVER taught) I think my class is going well. I think the complaint was more a lack of reading comprehension than a real complaint though. Whatever, I've gotten more positive feedback than bad. I'm often skeptical of people who say they're teachers taking a class like mine. I feel like they're going to just take my information and reuse it in their class; a risk I have to take I suppose.

Starting on the 20th I have a week and a half off. I'm so excited. I'm pretty desperate for some time away from work. Just desperate. I need to be away from the same people, feeling unappreciated and stressed constantly because my time is always the first thing pillaged.

I need to NOT think about the store for a while.
So Donut is putting an order on Dick Blick so I'm FINALLY going to get some grey Multiliners because Donut lets me throw them on her order! Cool No?! COOL YES!
I'm Very excite! I need it, bad.

busy month

 I've got one BUSY month going on! 

My Copic Class starts tomorrow! There is still time to register! I'm a little nervous, but then again... I'm not. I've had such a good response to my blog, and my many tutorials out there I'm sure I can make it worthwhile for the students. 

I am also teaching a second class through my work. I'm going to be teaching Acrylic Gel transfers In North Vancouver. If you're a card maker this is a really neat and unique way to add some dimension and texture to a card! Check out the information on the class here.

After these classes are all done, I'm going to try to get my natural life rhythm back! If my work schedule can be more consistent that would be much easier but I wont hold my breath on that one, or I'll turn blue and die.

I'm going to go back to working on my Comics consistently, and occasionally throwing out a free bee to you guys, though they won't be with the regularity they were in the past.

I'm going to go rummage for some food, and play my Wii (COMPLETELY addicted to the Michael Jackson game!) a little bit before diving into the colouring and making some more examples for my class!

.... I've done nothing.
I've been playing Michael Jackson: The Experience every spare moment I can. I'm so addicted to the game, I'm just glad it's a lot of physical activity I'm addicted to for once. It's great. small cramped apartment makes it frustrating though.

I got a burn on my thumb that didn't hurt so much when it happened, but once it started to heal up and turn into a scab, and then i caught it on my finger nail now it's exposed burn again :s

I've had the same cold for over a week now. My throat is sore constantly and the coughing is getting really old.
wish it would go away.

 I got my Zune hd in the mail! its awesome! awesome! I'm so happy with it! wish I had a real zune case for it though. the one I got is made for an ipod and its not a perfect fit.
anyway, gotta sleeeeep

new years and such

New years is only one thing for me this year! a 3 day weekend WOO! Mums in Victoria right now, visiting with Aunty Dewey. Wonder how Deweys CT scan went....
Sunday We're meeting mummy at the Lougheed mall to  do spot of shopping. There was a Nightmare before Christmas wallet there that I saw when we were Christmas shopping. My wallets a little chunky for my smaller bag.
I'm waiting for my Zune HD to com in the Mail. Due Jan 6th, so Jeri will be able to pick it up on the 7th... Hopefully. EEEEEE! So exciting!
I'm going to die waiting for it :)
I've had an encouraging response to my Copic class so far. within 12 hours of sending my email blast out, I had 3 People enrolled! Just great! I really gotta get cracking on the stuff I need for it...lol...
So I got the Michael Jackson Experience game for christmas, and I finally got a chance to give it  go. Its not normally my type of game (not much of a dancer lols) but it's fantastic! it's a great game! played it for over 2 hours.
Whee!

anyway, watching little house, going out for breakfast tomorrow morning if anything is open!

I'm on my new net book :D mini little laptop of cuteness! still getting used to the keyboard being so tiny, lol.
I don't think i slept at all, and I got up at my normal 5:30am, but waited until 6. :>

Besides my little laptop, I got a little lap desk that my new lap top sits on perfectly! it's got a cute little cupholder that perfectly fits a can of coke, hee hee :D

I also got the Michael Jackson Wii Game, so excite! In my stocking I got a little pouch shaped like an eggplant, chocolate, groovy earmuffs, and tons of socks! Temple & jeff got me a bodum travel tea press, and a bag of tea!

Boxing day, we attempted to hit the malls; I wanted to get a case for my new laptop. I should have brought it wit me because it didn't fit. width was ok, length was not. boo! dissapointed because the were really cute cases. woolly plaid.  well.
got a neat spider ring, and the new Michael Jackson CD today, so I'm happy 'bout that, even though sme guy budged in front of me at Future shop. I count not beating the shit out of him as my charitable contribution for boxing day.

Life Drawing Models Needed

 

Opus North Vancouver is looking to hire Life drawing models of all genders, shapes and sizes for un-instructed life drawing sessions to be held in 2011.

Clothed and nude models are needed, as well as props and well behaved pets.

 

The sessions are not instructed so the model would be self directed regarding pose lengths, props, etc. Models would be expected to provide artists with a nice variety of poses and pose lengths (we do have a pre-made schedule if you aren’t comfortable with that).

We would like the classes to be about 3-4 hours long each, and we are looking for weekend and weekday models.

 

We are offering 20$ per hour and we like to book our models a couple months in advance, if possible.
